Smash drains my battery quickly — what can I do?

Because Smash Your Fitness combines motion tracking, graphics, sound, and Bluetooth connectivity, it can use more power than standard apps. Here are ways to reduce battery drain and get the most out of your sessions:

🔋 Optimize Your Device While Playing

  • Keep your phone charged: Long workouts may drain power faster than normal. Plugging in during play prevents interruptions.

  • Lower screen brightness: A bright display is one of the biggest drains on battery.

  • Close background apps: Music, social media, or unused apps running in the background consume extra power.

  • Use Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth enabled: This reduces cellular background activity while still letting Smash connect to your devices.

📺 Use Casting for Longer Sessions

Casting to a TV gives you a larger, clearer view of the game, but your phone is still needed as the motion device — unless you’re using a smartwatch (Apple/Android) or a Smashometer.

  • If using only your phone → you’ll need to keep it in your hand or pocket while casting.

  • If using a smartwatch or Smashometer → you can leave your phone plugged in and charging while the watch/device tracks your movement.

⚙️ Adjust Device Settings

  • Battery Saver Mode: Turn this off while playing Smash, as it can interfere with motion tracking and connectivity.

  • Motion Smoothness: Adaptive refresh (90Hz/120Hz) looks great but uses more power. If battery life is a concern, switch to Standard (60Hz).

🛠️ Extra Tips

  • Shorter, more frequent sessions (10–20 minutes) help manage battery drain.

  • Newer devices with larger batteries handle long sessions better — older models may need to stay plugged in.

Bottom line: Smash is more demanding than everyday apps, but with a few tweaks (charging, brightness, background apps, and device settings), you can enjoy long workouts without worrying about running out of power.
