Because Android runs on many different phones and manufacturers, users may occasionally experience issues. Here are the most common problems and how to fix them.
📱 Common Android Issues
Device Fragmentation: Some devices have different hardware or Android versions, which may affect performance.
Battery Saver Mode: Battery optimization can restrict background activity. If enabled, it may interfere with Smash detecting your movement or staying connected to devices.
👉 Fix: Go into your device Settings → Battery → Battery Saver/Optimization and either turn it off while using Smash or exclude the app from optimization.
🔑 Permissions Not Granted During Install
If Smash doesn’t behave correctly, it may be because certain permissions weren’t allowed when you installed it. You can fix this anytime:
Find the app: On your home screen or app drawer, press and hold the Smash icon.
Open App Info: A small window will pop up → tap the “i” (info) icon.
Check Permissions: Scroll to Privacy / Permissions. Here you’ll see which permissions have been granted.
Motion/Location
Bluetooth & Nearby Devices
Microphone (for voice commands)
Camera (for social sharing, coming soon)
Toggle Settings: If a permission is missing, tap it to open the next screen where you can change it to Allow.
Tip: Android sometimes has an option to “Remove permissions when app is not in use.” Make sure this is turned off for Smash.
âś… Bottom Line
Most Android issues are caused by battery saver restrictions or missing permissions. Checking those two areas solves the majority of problems. Once permissions are granted and battery saver is off, Smash should run smoothly.
