How does scoring work in a race?

In the game, the creator of a race activity or playlist can activate scoring with the following features:

  • Base Scores: Earn points based on finish position (e.g., 30 points for 1st place to 4 points for 100th place).
  • Multiplier: Activity creators can apply a multiplier to each race.
  • Playlist Results: If participating in a playlist, the results screen displays tabs for each race and a summary with total scores for the playlist.

In some races, all individual riders are scored and in team races, usually the top three finishers within the same team are scored to generate a team score.

In Smash Cups, players compete in a series of races, earning points in each race. The player with the highest total score at the end wins the cup, earns rewards, and unlocks items.
