The game has many power-ups. When you join a map or activity, the loading (Info) screen will provide information about any power-ups that may be available and how they are configured. Power-Ups, sometimes called Supers, can be configured by type, quantity, and length of duration. If a power-up is on permanently it is called an Ability and you will see an infinity symbol (∞) in the Duration (DUR) area of the Power-Up card image.
To hear the in-game power-up sounds, turn On Enable Sounds (Shift+Q > Sounds) and change the volume for Power-Ups as you like. The game has a free Companion App (CoApp) that allows users a keyboard-free experience. With the Companion App, you can steer, shift gears, brake, deploy power-ups, and more through the app.
If you are already in a map or activity, press the ESC key to go to the Info Screen to see the Power-Ups available; you may need to scroll down if there are multiple activities (playlist) or many power-ups. Some activities are configured with no power-ups.
For example, the Info screen may look like this:
Press the Return To Ride button or the ESC key to resume the activity. Once you are back in the map or activity:
There will be up to 4 Power-Up slots in the Holding Bar at the bottom of the screen and to the right of the gauge. Abilities will not appear in these holding slots.
- A power-up is available to use when it becomes white in the holding slot.
- To deploy the Power-Up, there is a number within the holding slot in the bottom right corner, simply click that number along the top of the keyboard (or in the Companion App). Key bindings can also be configured in the Settings menu (Shift+Q or Gear icon) > Input.
- If you have the in-game sounds On, you will hear distinct sounds when you deploy a power-up and when it depletes.
- When the Power-Up is deployed, you will see several indicators:
- The Power-Up in the holding slot turns from white to green and burns down.
- After the burn-down is complete, if the power-up is still active, a countdown in that slot will show how many seconds remain until it regenerates.
- An animation will also appear on your avatar on the road.
COMING SOON! When you enter an activity, and there are power-ups, any power-up cards for that activity will pop up on screen during warm up so you can read them. Also, when a player acquires a road power-up, the power-up card will appear for several seconds informing the player what the function is.
