How do I join an activity non-physically?

You can join and play the free (for now) non-physical game on a desktop or laptop (PC or Mac).  COMING SOON! Watch for the free mobile version of the game to become available to play; however, since it will be free, there will not be Live Support & mobile versions will have access to less content.  Check out our website for more information: www.SmashYourFitness.com .

The first time you get into the game, you will need to set your Move and Control Methods:

  • In the Pairing Wizard screen the first time, select Non-Physical as your Move Method and click on the Remember & Skip link if you want to play the game non-physically and also bypass the wizard the next time you enter the game.  You can always reset these choices if you go to the Home Screen, hover over the Move, Monitor, Control section in the bottom left, and click on the Forget button.
  • Click Next and in the Control Methods, select Keyboard to use your keyboard or keyboard-mimicking device (e.g., game controller).  Optionally, you can also select Automatic to toggle toggle on/off Autopilot (default = On) and Auto Shift (default = On).  Auto Braking (default = Moderate) has three settings from which to choose: Off, Moderate, and Aggressive. Click Remember & Skip again if you want the same settings for next time.
  • There is no need to select anything under Bio Monitors as you are playing non-physically. Click on Remember & Skip after each step to bypass the wizard the next time & remember your settings.  

To join an activity:

  • On the Home Screen, click on Play Now and choose an activity type from Events (scheduled), Rides, Workouts, Smash Cups, or Time Trials.
  • Click Join on an Activity Tile.
  • From the loading page (Info screen), click Join Ride to enter the activity.

Tips for playing non-physically:

  • Watch the video Tutorials under the Help (question mark) icon in the top right on most pages.
  • The first time you enter many activities, you will be greeted by an informational, and sometimes interactive, tutorial that will help enhance your riding experience.
  • Press and Hold the Forward (default ="W" Key): This sets your bike at a default RPM, such as 40 RPM.
  • Double Tap and Hold: Quickly double-tap the "Forward" key and hold it to set your RPM based on how fast you tapped.
  • RPM Control: The system calculates your RPM using the last few taps. Fewer, faster taps lead to a higher RPM, while more taps give more control over lower RPMs.
  • To reach higher speeds, tap less and focus on speed, not frequency!

  • Check out the configurable bindings in the Settings Menu by clicking Shift+Q or the gear icon, then Inputs.
  • These are the configurable default keyboard settings for physical play.  For non-physical play, click the "W" key to move forward but feel free to configure any of the keys below in Inputs under Settings:
