What is a time trial?

A Time Trial (also referred to as a TT) is a race against the clock for the fastest time. This is considered the “race of truth”, as winning depends only on each rider’s strength and endurance, and not help provided by teammates. Multiple riders can compete in the same session but drafting is disabled and other riders cannot block your path so it's all about your individual performance. Individual time trials are usually held on flat or rolling terrain, although a mountainous course can be used. Before starting a time trial event you should visit the Garage under My Stuff and review your bike and components:

Bike – you want the most aerodynamic bike possible, as most of the effort goes into overcoming aerodynamic drag.
