  1. BLE Improvements
    1. Fixes: Resolved an issue that caused users to stop moving during activities.
    2. Functionality: Enhanced for a smoother connection experience.
    3. Pairing: RPM values now display in the UI, unless your equipment does not provide cadence data.
    4. MAC: Fixed the bug preventing RPM from showing in the UI.
  2. Power Assist Update:
    1. Fixed one of the issues that prevented users from picking up power-ups. Another fix is coming.
    2. Both the Greater Responsibility and Sticky Bottle power-ups have been removed from Power Assist.
  3. Auto-Reconnect for Paired Devices: Devices that were previously paired will now automatically reconnect for a seamless experience.
  4. Strava Integration: New rides for Leaderboards or Challenges will now be ignored by Strava.
  5. Visual Updates:
    1. Roadside: Added new objects for more variety and interest.
    2. Race Village: Trees are now appropriately placed for a more polished experience.
  6. Additional Logging for improved support for the following trainers:

  1. Virtual Gears for Smart Trainers
  2. When your trainer is paired for both power and resistance:
    1. Gears will no longer reset to 5 when changing activities.
    2. Gears will reset only when you re-open the game.
  3. Smart Trainers: A BLE signal is now sent to wake up dormant trainers, ensuring better connectivity.
  4. Maps: 12 new maps were released! Find them on the Maps tab and explore.
  5. Mac Fixes: Fixed an issue with BLE signal strength for improved performance.
  6. General Fixes: Resolved numerous errors, exceptions, and warnings to enhance overall stability.

  1. Improved Quality Settings for the best experience!
    1. Each time you join an activity the system now optimizes graphics quality and FPS for the best balance between visuals and performance, based on your equipment.
    2. Feel free to experiment with the manual settings! Your changes will be saved, but you can revert to the original configuration, simply click "Restore Defaults" in Settings (Shift + Q → Graphics)..
  2. Enhanced Map Testing:  Improved procedures for accurately assessing map performance.
  3. BLE Smart Trainer Updates: Added support for BLE Smart Trainers that also output heart rate monitor data.
  4. Companion App (CoApp) Updates:
    1. Resolved issues with downshifting gears.
    2. Fixed problems that prevented movement after pairing using the CoApp.
  5. Pairing: The signal strength icon now appears with the Battery icon.
  6. Maps: Added three new roadside objects for variety and interest.
  7. Coach Cy:
    1. Users can now create and save a Workout Plan directly from the Home screen.
    2. Improved responses for:
      1. How to send Logs.
      2. Maps that are not Certified.
  8. General Fixes: Resolved numerous errors and exceptions, including a memory leak.

  1. The Replicator is Here!
    • Access it via the “+” icon in the top right corner of the Home screen.
    • Upload your .gpx or .fit file, name it, and experiment with biomes.
    • Click Publish & Pedal to jump into your custom map!
    • Pro Tip: start with a smaller map if you are on a less powerful machine.
  2. New Quality Settings System: For an improved experience.
  3. Automatically adjusts render quality to maintain the target FPS (defaults to your monitor’s refresh rate).
  4. Auto Adjust Continuously is the default setting. The system actively monitors performance and dynamically adjusts quality to maintain your target FPS. You may notice visual changes while riding. If you prefer a consistent quality level, try one of these Render Quality options:
    1. Low, Medium, or High: Locks graphics at that level.
    2. Auto Set @ Activity Start: Sets the quality at the start of each activity.
  5. Nerd Alert: Advanced Settings are available.
  6. Race Village: Performance Enhancements.
  7. Road Surfaces: Fixed resistance issues, ensuring the correct feel on all road types. This change is especially noticeable in corners—let us know how it feels!
  8. Gearing and Smart Trainers: Resistance now works for:
  9. Workouts: ERG mode on / off (Gear display hidden when ERG is active).
  10. Road Surfaces: Adjusts based on terrain.
  11. Gradients: Feel inclines and declines as you ride.
  12. Map Enhancements:
  13. Added side objects to Replicator maps for variety and interest.
  14. Improved handling of the road thickness.
  15. Coach Cy:
  16. Retrained to handle requests for specific map types or workout durations.
  17. Improved formatting for clearer responses.
  18. In Progress: Teaching Coach Cy about recent changes and only suggesting maps which are certified.
  19. Tutorial: Fixed gear interaction issues in the Maximize Your Stamina tutorial.
  20. Support Chat: Fixed the error that appeared after pressing Send.
  21. Challenges: Resolved issues with progress tracking and displaying all Friends who joined a challenge.

  5. Companion App (CoApp) Updates
    1. Improved Connectivity: More consistent connections for a smoother experience.

    4. Next up is handling the latest ILS release.

  8. UI Simplification:

  9. Camera View – fixed a bug that caused a user to be in 3rd person view after firing a power-up.
  10. MAC – resolved an issue that prevented logs from being received .
  11. Strava:
    1. fixed a crash when uploading logs from a Paced Ride.
    2. Next up: improving how activities shared to Strava are displayed.
  12. BLE fixes for improved performance:
    1. Fixed resistance issues for Kickers paired via BLE
    2. Cleared Smashometers cache to compute power curves correctly.
    3. Implemented a fix for Mac users not moving when paired with a Core trainer, with further improvements in progress.
  13. Tutorials: From the Settings menu users can now “Reset” to see all the Tutorials when joining activities.
  14. Fixed various Errors and Exceptions.
  15. Graphics – adding functionality to scan a scene when joining a map and adjust Quality appropriately (more to come).
  16. Power Ups – fixed the issue that caused power-up holding slots to get out of order.

  1. Challenges Are Here! Join one or all the Challenges and start making progress. Now is the perfect time to provide feedback as we fine-tune features like seeing which of your friends have joined.
  2. New Functionality for Smart Trainers
    1. Stamina: Monitor your in-game stamina with the Stamina Wheel to improve your actual stamina.
    2. Gearing: Feel resistance changes when your smart trainer is paired for resistance and you shift up (R-key) or down (T-key).
    3. What’s Next: Future updates will support resistance for road surfaces, grades, cassette configuration, and more.
  3. Coach Cy Refinements
    1. Easy Access: Coach Cy is now front and center on the Home Screen, ready to assist anytime.
    2. Prefilled Prompts: Explore his knowledge with quick-start suggestions.
    3. Map Suggestions: Ask for map recommendations, and Coach Cy can create an activity tile to jump in instantly!
    4. Streamlined Interface: When Coach Cy is active, the Support Chat button is hidden because Coach Cy can also answer your Customer Service questions.
    5. Smarter Responses: Cy now considers user context and intent for better suggestions.
    6. Better Formatting: Improved response formatting for easier readability.
    7. Activity Suggestions: Coach Cy provides three recommendations by default unless you request a specific number.
  4. First-Person View Enhancements – When riding in first-person view, the camera will momentarily switch to third-person for:
    1. Power-ups you activate.
    2. Emotes you trigger.
    3. At the end of a race or cup when your avatar does an emote.
  5. UI Simplifications
    1. Nearby Riders List: Now shows the top three riders, a small gap, and then the rider in front of you, you, and the rider behind you.
    2. Terminology Updates: “Play Now” is now “Play,” and “My Stuff” is now “Stuff.”
    3. Lap Counter Disabled: For a cleaner interface.
  6. Tutorials
    1. Workout Tutorial: Created new versions for Smashometer, both for heart rate and Smash Feel workouts.
    2. Stamina Tutorial: Fixed gear interaction issues for better clarity.
  7. Support Email Update: Updated the support email address in the Terms and Conditions and Privacy areas for accuracy.
  8. Map Updates
    1. Roadside Objects: Added roadside details to make long rides more engaging—or to distract opponents before a corner!
    2. New Biome: Introduced a "fall" biome to the Replicator for seasonal variety.
  9. Power-Ups
    1. Fixed a bug preventing users from deploying power-ups as intended.
    2. Next Up: The team is working on an issue causing power-up slots to appear out of order.
  10. Paced Rides: Resolved an issue where riders would see the inside of their avatar during paced rides.
  11. Smash Assistant: Improved response formatting for support desk users for clearer communication.

11-24-2024

  1. Coach Cy Upgrade: Coach Cy is now live on the Workout page! You can chat with him about workouts, workout plans, and maps. Soon, he’ll even take you straight to the workouts you create together. Test him out and let us know how he’s doing!
  2. Scoreboard Optimization: The scoreboard has undergone significant improvements:
    1. Automatically scrolls to your name highlighted in yellow.
    2. Real-time updates for finishing positions. Names will update from grey to white when they cross the finish line.
    3. Increased performance and longer display time (press Tab to view again and Tab+Q to see the cumulative scoreboard).
    4. Some alignment issues addressed, there may be more changes.
    5. We are working to handle ties better, and the occasional double entries, incorrect scrolling, and blank scoreboards.
  3. Emotes are more visible for you to personalize your experience! Choose them in the Garage, then activate them during an activity by holding Shift and pressing the assigned number key. If you use first-person view the use of Emotes will briefly switch your camera to third-person view so you can see your Avatar in action. This includes your animation at the conclusion of a Race or Cup.
  4. Chat Support - Need help?
    1. In-game: Click the “?” icon and select Support Chat. Support Chat is also available as the “Smash Assistant” on many screens in the lower right corner.
    2. On the website: Use the Start Chat button to talk to the Smash Assistant.
    3. Try to stump them with a Smash-related question and let us know how it goes!
  5. Workouts Improvements:
    1. The Workout Wheel now includes an orange line to display target watts, heart rate, or “feel” depending on device type.
    2. Bots will no longer slow down for corners.
    3. Users now have the ability to insert recover workouts into a Plan as needed.
    4. Upcoming changes are intensity icons that match the workout better and proper handling of a completed Workout Plan.
  6. Pairing Fixes
    1. Fixed power drops when using separate cadence sensors.
    2. Resolved detection issues with the Smashometer after updates.
    3. Improved BLE pairing to prevent loss of power or RPM readings.
    4. As the Beta expands to include more devices, please report any pairing issues you encounter to help us improve!
  7. Website Updates
    1. Smash Assistant added to answer questions about Smash Your Fitness.

    1. Addressed the issue causing original participants to speed ahead at the start.
    2. Resolved an issue causing a Replay event to freeze.
  13. UI Updates
    1. Nearby Riders List: Click on the Leader for a view from their perspective.
    2. Fixed one of the issues causing the Mic icon in the bottom-right corner to disappear. We will address two other causes shortly.

  1. Workouts
    1. Completion Tracking: Workouts in your plan are now marked as completed once finished. We’re still working on adding features like inserting recovery workouts.
    2. Enhanced Target Wheel: The gear is now in the Target Wheel.
    3. Coach Cy Update: Added to the Hamburger menu on the Home Screen.
    4. Button Text Update: Hovering over the “More Workouts” button now shows updated text.
    5. Privacy Fix: Resolved a security issue that flagged some workouts as “private.”
    6. Next Up for Workouts: Adding segment bars to the Info page, showing Coach Cy on the Workout page, and refining how completed plans are handled.

    1. For manual braking, use the Spacebar. Hold for faster braking, feather for slower braking.

  6. Scheduled Events - Fixed the bug that prevented late joins to events.
  7. Bots - Bots are sporting new kits to add variety to the maps. Tip: Check their shoes—bots wear white, but so can real riders!
  8. Wahoo Trainers -Removed cadence data where not applicable for Wahoo devices.

  1. Workout Plans: You can now create and customize your own workout plans!
    • Choose a plan duration from 4 to 8 weeks
    • Set the number of workouts per week
    • Select the duration of each workout to fit your schedule
    • Adjust the intensity of your plan
    • Skip a workout anytime to swap in something more or less intense
    • Option to enable ERG mode if you're using a smart trainer
    • Coming Soon: We’re continuing to enhance workout plans with the following updates:
      1. Mark workouts as finished when completed.
      2. Allow the option to insert a recovery workout as needed.
  2. Workouts:
    • UI Update: The workout progress indicator now includes a scrolling carrot to help you track your position in real time.
    • Target RPM: Adjusted to a mid-range value, with recovery segments that include zero now targeting 85%.
    • Terminology Change: "Failed" has been replaced with "Missed Target" for completed segments.
    • Heart Rate Targets: Extended segment lengths to make it easier to hit heart rate targets.
    • In Progress: We’re actively working on additional updates, including:
      1. Moving Coach Cy to the new Workout page.
      2. Updating the text seen when hovering over the “More Workouts” button.
      3. Resolving an issue where some users couldn’t see all workout tiles due to a security restriction on private workouts.
  3. Tutorials: We’re continuing to refine the tutorial experience:
    • Faster fade-in for the Tutorial Menu
    • Updated video clips for the Stamina and Gear tutorials
    • Improved handling at the end of tutorial videos
    • Ongoing Work: We’re working to address issues with:
      1. How Power Assists function within Tutorials.
      2. Sync issues that occur when clicking the “Back” button or rewatching a Tutorial.
  4. Camera: Improved an issue where the camera occasionally ended up inside the avatar's head. We’re continuing to work on eliminating this issue.
  5. BLE: Fixed a bug that caused trainers to not provide power or cadence. Please let us know if you encounter any further issues with BLE  including if the RPM/Cadence looks incorrect.

11-11-2024

  1. Power Assist: When these are active in an event, anyone who is 5+ seconds behind the leader will see Power-Ups appear on the road. Run over them to collect and then activate by pressing the assigned number on your keyboard, displayed below the Power-Up icon in your holding bar. The Power Assist power ups are only available until you reach the 1km marker.
    • Fixed an issue that caused these Power-Ups to appear for everyone shortly after the start.
    • Resolved a bug that allowed users to deploy Power Assist after passing the 1km banner.
    • The team is still investigating occasional bugs that prevent users from picking up or using a Power Assist. If you encounter this issue, please let us know and share any relevant details.
  2. BLE Connection: Improved the issue causing BLE to not reconnect. Please let us know if you have any issues.
  3. Strava: The issue preventing uploading fit files to Strava is resolved. Any fit files created between Oct 29th and November 9th will not be able to upload to Strava.
  4. Tutorials: Continued "fit and finish" improvements to refine content and functionality. We are still addressing certain issues, including how Power Assists work within Tutorials.
  5. Challenges: Challenges have moved from the "My Stuff" menu to the "Home" menu. Work is underway to make them fully functional.
  6. Winning Scene: We began implementing a winning scene that appears at the end of an activity. A podium and the winners will appear at the finish line. Progress continues to make this enhancement fully functional.
  7. Point to Point maps: When it is desired, we can now connect the ends of a map that is not a loop. The team will start implementing these in the Zone 1 and Zone 2 Paced Rides for your feedback.
  8. Workouts:
    • Added segment bars to the activity tile, allowing you to preview the workout's intensity levels.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the max heart rate to reset to zero on the user’s profile.
    • Adjusted the default max heart rate to 140 BPM.
    • Changed the heart rate units on the Profile page from Watts to BPM.
    • FTP values will be updated after each ride and you can review in your Profile
    • We’re actively working on additional updates based on your feedback. Here’s a preview of improvements in progress for upcoming releases:
      • Target Adjustments: While Target Power and HRM have been addressed, we plan to adjust Target RPM to a mid-range value. For recovery segments where the range includes zero, the target will be set to 85%.
      • Workout Page Enhancements: The Workout page will be updated to include Workout Plans and recommended workouts, along with a button to access the full workout library.
      • Coach Cy Update: Coach Cy will be moving to the new Workout page.
      • Terminology Change: "Failed" will be replaced with "Missed Target".

Heart Rate Targets: For shorter segments, we’ll be adjusting the goal setting to make it easier to hit heart rate targets.

  1. Paced Rides: Fixed a bug that occasionally left avatars floating above the map. Let us know if you’re still experiencing any issues.
  2. Tutorials: Continued tweaks and edits to both text and voiceovers to improve clarity and user experience.
  3. Workouts:
    • Target wheel will now function before the start and after the end of a workout.
    • When the target range includes zero, it will now use 85% of the maximum value rather than an average for improved accuracy.
    • The target area in the Wheel has been fine-tuned so the green section accurately reflects the target range.
    • Please be aware that the Workout Results screen shows the same target for all segments and that will be corrected.
  4. Scoreboards: We’ve made visual enhancements, but we’re still chasing down the bug causing incorrect scores to appear. For now, please refer to the results screen for the most accurate scores.

11-1-2024

  1. Workouts: Updates were made to ERG mode for BLE. We ask Alphas and Betas to test this on as many devices as possible and share any issues or feedback. When you join a workout, the ERG toggle is in the bottom left corner, please make sure it is set to On.
  2. Tutorials:
    • Expanded the tutorials available on the menu, making it easier to see what’s offered.
    • Made edits to improve various tutorials.
  3. Strava Integration Fix: For users with Smash connected to Strava, we resolved the black screen issue that occurred when transitioning to an activity.

PROD 0.16.25

  1. Workouts:
    • New workouts are being added today.
    • Heart Rate mode for the Smashometer is now live! Those with Smashometers and heart rate monitors should give it a try.
  2. Playlist Transition Fix: Resolved the issue that prevented the first-place finisher from transitioning to the next event in a Playlist.
  3. Smart Trainers: Default trainer difficulty levels have been adjusted to 50% for Warm-Up, Activity, and Cool-Down. You can update these settings when you join an activity or from your Profile.
  4. FTP & Heart Rate Defaults: Updated both to default to 200.
  5. Tutorials: Added voiceovers so you can listen and learn while you ride.
  6. Camera Fix: Fixed an issue that caused some users to start activities with their camera in the “back” view.

PROD 0.16.18

  1. Power: Resolved an issue where power would intermittently drop to zero.
  2. Workouts:
    • Added a results screen to track your progress.
    • Updated motivational text to align with the UI, now using "RPM" instead of "Cadence."
    • Added default RPM values for segments to help guide your workout.

1. Workouts Redesign: The team has made extensive changes to the workout structure, aiming for a more customized experience depending on your device setup. Key changes include:

  • Dynamic Targets Based on Device:
    • Smart Trainer: Power-based targets
    • Smashometer:
      • Heart rate-based targets if paired with a heart rate monitor
      • RPM-based targets if no heart rate monitor is paired
  • Updated UI Design: The display now adapts based on your paired device. We’d love to hear your feedback on the new look!
  • Smash Feel Intensity Table: A smaller range to help you gauge your effort levels.
  • Coach Cy Enhancements:
    • Cadence prompts to guide you during workouts
    • Full compatibility with new multi-mode workouts for an even more personalized experience
  • Extensive Code Refactoring: With 90% of the code restructured, please try creating a workout with Coach Cy and let us know how it went including any issues or bugs.
  • Additional Changes:
    • Segment/bar targets removed from the bottom of each segment.
    • Segment bar scaling has been removed.
    • When a workout Is created by Coach Cy all segment bars are currently blue, but in the future, colors will change to reflect intensity levels for each segment.
    • We’ll be adding more workouts soon, based on your feedback!

2. Power-Up Update: "Lazy Boy" Power-Up Renamed: It’s now called the "Sticky Bottle"! Functionality remains the same: engage it, and you’ll have a steady power output of 421 watts.

3. Lap Times: Fastest Lap Names Displayed: Now, you’ll see the names of the riders with the fastest lap times, so you know who’s setting the pace.


PROD 0.16.14

  1. Workouts:
    • HUD (UI display) has been aligned for improved visibility.
    • Now using raw (actual) watt values.
    • ERG mode code has been simplified for smoother functionality.
    • Target watts will display below segment bars for some users.
    • Fixed transitions for workouts used in Playlists.
  2. Bug Fixes: Various bugs and errors have been addressed to enhance stability.

PROD 0.16.11

  1. Playlists: The team is reworking how users transition between activities in a playlist. While we make these updates, you may encounter a few bugs.
    • Removed the need to click buttons (Go, Snooze, Stay) by automatically moving users from one activity to the next. Messaging will keep you informed as you transition.
    • Results will now display as you transition to the next activity.
  2. Tutorials: Fixed a bug that was preventing users from seeing all the tutorials on the menu.
  3. Workouts:
    • Fixed the height of the segment bars, so each bar’s height now reflects the workout intensity.
    • Added an extra segment bar to show the end of the workout.
    • Currently, target watts are not shown below the segment bars, but this will be fixed in an upcoming release.

PROD 0.16.9

  1. Workouts:
    • Users on keyboard can now join workouts, either with the group or solo.
    • Adjusted target power numbers that appear below the segments/bars for better accuracy.

2.       Graphics: Tweaked the level of detail for High and Medium quality settings to improve performance.

Additionally, a few users noticed that today’s activities didn’t automatically upload to Strava. We're aware of this issue and will investigate further. If you need assistance locating your fit files to manually upload to Strava, don’t hesitate to reach out for help


PROD 0.16.7

  1. Workouts:
    • Workouts will now use and display raw (unequalized) power inputs.
    • Default FTP is set to zero so that users can input their FTP when starting their first workout.
    • Added target power number below the segment bar for clearer guidance.

2.       Stamina Wheel: Added an orange line to represent the power needed to maintain velocity.

3.       Paced Rides: Improved the messaging when joining the ride, making it easier to read after simplification. This is the same message seen when using the Rejoin button.

4.       Tutorials: Updated and new Tutorials

5.       New Auto-Shift Drafting Feature: When drafting and bumping into the rider ahead due to overpowering, auto-shift will now adjust gears based on gradient and other factors. However, if you’re in the attack RPM range, downshifting will be disabled, allowing you to maintain momentum.

    • Fixed the issue where the camera leaned at an angle when joining an activity.
    • Removed one of the side views when toggling through views with the C key.

7.       Scheduled Events: Users can now join scheduled events up to 30 minutes early.

1. Smashometers:

  • New Auto-Shift Feature for Drafting: When drafting, if you bump into the rider ahead due to overpowering, auto-shift will now downshift to the appropriate gear for drafting (when enabled). The gear change varies based on gradient and other factors. Note: If you're in the attack RPM range, the downshifting will not occur, allowing you to attack.

  • Power Messaging: Updated notifications to alert you to get up to the group power before the assist ends.
  • Rejoin Functionality:
    • If not lapped, you'll speed forward to rejoin the group.
    • If lapped, you’ll be placed with the group directly.
  • Autopilot Improvements: Autopilot will now stay in the draft and avoid chasing inner corners.

1.       Power Assist: A recent tweak caused too many power-ups to appear on the road. We’ve turned off regeneration, and when doing multiple laps, power assist power-ups will be disabled in the final kilometer of a race.

1.      Wiggle Room Phase I: When you are slightly overspeed for a corner, you will slide out and drop speed. If your feedback is positive about this feature, we will also add a “wiggle” animation to indicate you were overspeed and would have crashed.

2.      Brake Line Performance: Increased performance for the brake line (arrows in the road) on longer maps.
