What is the difference between a basic trainer and a smart trainer?

A basic, simple, or fluid trainer provides a simple resistance setup, which is not interactive with the game.  You adjust the resistance manually.  A smart trainer, on the other hand, connects to the game via Bluetooth (BLE) or ANT+ and can adjust the resistance automatically based on the terrain or your workout intensity.  Smart trainers offer a more immersive experience with features like power output tracking and simulated hills.

If you have a basic trainer, however, you can pair it with our lightweight, wearable Smashometer wearable device to experience the game.  Read more about this device in our Smashometer FAQ section and visit our website at www.SmashYourFitness.com to purchase a Smashometer bundle with membership.
