Replicator™: Use the Smash Your Fitness Replicator (map maker) to craft routes inspired by your favorite terrains. Duplicate real-world rides or fantasy terrains, then test them out. Your Replicator routes are minimally decorated by the game so you can literally publish and pedal. Customize your creation with different themes, map parameters, biomes, road surfaces, road furniture, signage, obstacles, banks, and much more. Turn you dream course into a rideable reality by blending your creativity with your fitness goals!
Replicator allows you to create any map from a gpx or fit file. Access the Replicator from Home Screen followed by the "+" sign in upper right. A few of the attributes you can set in the Replicator are:
- Corner speeds – change the corner speeds so that you don’t have to worry about crashing
- Road surfaces – we have many different road surfaces that can be applied to the entire route or by section
- Elevation – keep it true to life or reduce (Smash) it. Three options – set a maximum grade, “smash” the total elevation by a factor for the entire map, or enhance the elevation
Tips for using Replicator:
- If you just want a simplified, minimally decorated version of your Replicator map, after you've uploaded your gpx of fit file, determined whether your map will be full-sized, Smashed, or Enhanced, and given it a name and description, you can literally just press the Publish & Pedal button on the Basics tab and Go! If you want more decoration and customization, check out the Settings, Lines, Biomes, and Roads tabs along the top.
- Mix biomes in your map for more diversity in flora and fauna.
- Keep in mind that the Replicator is a powerful tool and will require significant CPU and GPU resources for optimal performance. You may have limited functionality depending on your computer. Start with the creation of a few smaller maps to practice and for a better experience. ***Before you venture into creating an advanced map, try creating a few simple maps first***
- For an advanced view of Replicator features, after you've uploaded your gpx of fit file, determined whether your map will be full-sized, Smashed, or Enhanced, and given it a name and description, under the Basics tab, click the Advanced toggle and slide the View Level slider to the right. You will see more tabs available on the top.
- For different types of routes:
- If you have uploaded a point-to-point route (one-way) or an intersecting route, it should work as expected.
- If you have a looped route (round-trip), it is better to to fix the route so that the ends do not overlap before uploading it to the Replicator (i.e., it's better to have a slight gap in the loop). Use a gpx or fit file editor to create a gap before uploading it to the game.
- Currently, you cannot create an out-and-back route (same route both ways) in Replicator map.
- Give the Replicator a few minutes to Publish your creation. The time it takes will depend on your computer and the complexity of the map.
- Remember to test your map and make adjustments as needed.
- After you Publish & Pedal, you will be dropped into your new map. There are three ways access your map later, 1) on the Home Screen in game > click the "+" sign in upper right > My Creations, 2) Hamburger Menu > My Creations > My Creations, or 3) Hamburger Menu > Explore > My Creations tab along top.
